Easter should be a happy holiday and one that we are forever grateful for. Jesus has died on the cross to save us from our sin. The abuse and torture he endured in beyond our comprehension and understanding. The pain he must have felt and the ridicule was huge in his life. He was sacrificing everything for us to have eternal life.
Which makes me stand back and look at my own life and how much I could think of things in my life differently. How I could do without the materialistic stuff, the eating out, the sweets, and so much more. It makes me want to be a minimalist and really fine tune my life simpler. To only deal with the things that are important. To let go of people who bring us down, and to do without some of the things we think we need. And to get a grip on our eating habits and health.
At some point we can look at our own tiny sacrifices we make that seem so mynute but even them we can't seem to bare the pain. Like not having that sugary soda, a cream filled coffee, or that high calorie pastry we crave. It also makes me think as to why we can't set our lives up to have less and appreciate the people in our lives more. Enjoy the simple pleasures of life like walking the woods, taking a stroll along the lake, or feeding the birds, or just kicking back and reading a book
I know for myself the older I get the less I need and the more I want to unload my home and live in a smaller home. Maybe you can relate? But it also makes you think about how much you think you need. Why do we feel the need to have so much stuff? And stuff we don't use at that. I think we hold on to stuff like our parents did. And we want to live like they did or better.
Looking back on how we grew up can play a huge role in your weight loss efforts. Acknowledge the way you ate when you were younger. How many times a day did you eat? How much did you tell yourself no to the unhealthy foods? How much did your parents prepare for meals? How did you feel about food back then? Was it easy or hard to give up the sweets? Then ask yourself what is different now and what has changed? You just may have a break through and be able to help yourself get back in a healthier routine.
When we look at our weight from a religious perspective It can really make us feel selfish and ungrateful if you are religious. And I realize that not everyone is a believer of Christ. And I am not here to push my religion on anyone. I am just stating how I feel about how little I sacrifice my wants and food cravings compared to what Christ went through. There is no comparison. But I think you will understand what I am trying to say. And how little I think about telling myself no more, and only eat what I need. To remind myself of how I could do much better if I remind myself that God is with me and he wants the best for me. That he is powerful to help me with my small prayer.
Does it make you think differently? I would Love to know.
However, being obese our Easter may not look like everyone else's. We may not have an abundance of delicious carbohydrates on the menu. Or an array of high fat meats, or thick creamy side dishes. And maybe not even a dessert course at our dinner meal. We may even give up the cakes and cookies, and yummy snack we know we can't stay out of. And of course forget the Easter baskets full of chocolate and candies. But I guess that's ok too.
The best way I can describe it is we had our fun with all the foods we enjoyed and liked. We abused our bodies enough with all the foods we shouldn't of had. It already did the damage to our health that now we are paying the price for. I wouldn't say were too old to care now. But I would say we have learned from our mistakes and are now mindful. If we are now so mindful do you think we could acknowledge that same mindfulness when we are having a craving? God I hope so.
Dear Lord hear my prayer for this Easter weekend. Give me the strength and hope to help myself get healthier. Stand with me through those horrible sweet tooth cravings and give me the power over them to demolish the yearning for them. Help me to become a better person and a better friend. Give me the guidance I need to get to my goal weight. Forgive me for my sin and setbacks I have had. Lord open my heart to more love for myself and for you. Let me listen to you more and give more praise to you and the goodness of the world. In this I ask of you lord that you may hear my prayer for myself and all who reads and follows me. Thanks to God in the most high! Amen
Thank you for reading this far,
Much love to you!

The things I state here are not a cure for disease or are they a fast way to lose weight. They should not be taken for medical advice. Always consult your own Physician. I am just a Coach researching for my own needs and experience and to educate others on becoming aware that herbs and spices are a natural way and have been used for years in other parts of the world. From my experience of losing 40 pounds I had to change my life for the better to accomplish the weight loss. I now use products that work with me and not against me.
